春名礼子（中谷美纪 Miki Nakatani 饰）是曾获芥川文学奖的女作家，由于遇上创作瓶颈，灵感枯竭，身体状况开始变差。责任编辑木岛（西岛秀俊 Hidetoshi Nishijima 饰）劝说礼子搬到郊外一栋古旧的洋房里居住，在这栋为森林和沼泽所包围着的房子对面是一幢废墟般的空置房屋。一天晚上，礼子看到一个男人把布包裹着的不明物体搬进房 子里。后来，她得知对方是名叫吉冈诚（丰川悦司 Etsushi Toyokawa 饰）的大学教授，那栋空房子是相模大学的研究所。那是一具从沼泽里取出来的千年女性干尸。 但礼子噩梦就此开始，研究所的秘密、房间的古怪、吉冈的行径以及之前的身体不适等各种怪事都与干尸扯上关系。。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios.
