律师华特邂逅了美丽的古典乐手安娜，情投意合的两人很快就走到了一起。刚开始，他们住在安娜的前夫麦克斯的房子里，但归来的麦克斯将两人赶了出去，他们该到哪里去找一个可以遮风避雨的容身之处呢？ 幸运的是，两人以超低的价格从一个老妇的手中买到了一幢富丽堂皇的别墅，可他们满心欢喜的住进去没多久，别墅里就开始出现了各种各样的问题。原来，这桩别墅系“豆腐渣工程”，更糟的是，根本没有施工队愿意接手这个烫手山芋。为了修缮房屋，华特和安娜投在这栋房子里的钱越来越多，而两人的感情却渐渐产生了裂痕。。A documentary potted history of WW2, the novelty here is that most of the film has been "colorized".
