影片讲述了二战时期伦敦的9岁男孩George（埃利奥特·赫弗南饰）的史诗之旅，他的母亲Rita（西尔莎·罗南饰）将他送到了安全的英国乡村。George不屈不挠，决心回到伦敦东部的Rita和外祖父Gerald（保罗·韦勒饰）身边，于是他开始了一场冒险，却发现自己身处巨大的危险之中，而心烦意乱的Rita则在寻找她失踪的儿子。。本片是同一故事第三度重拍的版本。此片将好莱坞的背景改成今日的摇滚乐坛，男主角原是着名的摇滚乐歌手，而女主角则在小型夜总会卖艺。影片中有不少热门插曲，部分片段的镜头和表演都不俗，但整体则显得有点矫揉造作，角色欠缺真正的生命感，不过娱乐性还是维持相当水准。本片曾获奥斯卡最佳电影插曲金像奖。。The movie focuses on existing malpractices in country's education system, the whole concept of buying your way through education, jobs and earnings.
