舞妓晚霞（何晴饰）不堪淮王（张绮军饰）侮辱投江自尽，艺人阿端（张小清饰）也被逼坠江而亡。龙宫歌舞掌班解姥姥（高玉倩饰）救活阿端，并把他编入歌舞班。一日，龙窝君（陈希饰）宴请吴江王（刘振中饰），阿端认识了凄美动人的少女晚霞，相同的身世和遭遇使俩人很快相爱了。宴会上对晚霞美貌起邪念的吴江王夜不能寐，他设计召奉晚霞入府，图谋不轨，刚烈的晚霞再次以死殉志。阿端闻讯，万念俱灰，跳崖追晚霞而去。二人以死殉情的行为感动了上苍，使他们死而复生返回人间。淮王闻讯晚霞还活着，心生歹念...... 本片根据《聊斋志异》章节改编。。The TARDIS lands in London on Christmas Eve, 1851 and almost immediately the Doctor hears his name being called. When he meets the woman shouting for him she fails to recognise him and continues calling until another man arrives and claims to be the Doctor and acknowledges the woman, Rosita, as his companion.
